This page contains images that have meaning for me in some way. Some I just like the artistic beauty. Others connect (interpellate) to me on a more personal level. This is a page that is always under construction, so stop back occasionally, and you can click on each image to view a larger version.

Man and a Dog
I noted this image on my main page. The photographer has a great eye, catching the repetition of the vertical lines in the image. I also love black and white as a photographic medium. I think the simpler tones draw attention in a qualitatively different way that is sometimes more effective than color.

LIVESTRONG
I include these images because LIVESTRONG has become a large part of my identity. As a cancer survivor, it speaks to me as a message of hope and also demand. Don't let cancer, or any other disease, set you back. I also just like the images!

Fight Apathy (I just love the irony)

Hilton Head 2009

Artist in Jackson Square (New Orleans)
This image was taken by Paul Martin Lester, who wrote some of the material we use in class. I love the simplicity of this image and how it captures a moment in time. The only people that appear to be present are the artists and the subject. Otherwise, the street seems deserted. The misty portion near the top adds an ethereal touch to the image and the lighting is exquisite. Note the light reflected in the wet pavement/concrete. It adds a quality to the the image that would be absent if not for the recent rain.
